Helen Flanagan shares adorable video of proud daughter, 7, watching mum in I'm A Celeb trial

Helen Flanagan and her daughter Matilda watched the soap star overcome her fear of heights in a nerve-wracking I'm A Celebrity... in South Africa trial.

Corrie star Helen, 32, said she would be braver this time round for her three kids, Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and Charlie, two, but that was soon put to the test, as her first challenge in the All Stars edition saw the actress jump across huge red balls from a terrifying height.

But the actor conquered her fears after seeing campmates Fatima Whitbread and Phil Tufnell give it ago, and Helen watched the pre-recorded scenes with eldest daughter, Matilda.

Mum and daughter viewed the scene at home, with Helen telling her eldest: "Matilda, mummy was so scared, I did it because I didn't want you to be like 'mummy didn't do it', but honestly darling I was absolutely... I was so scared.

"I did it because I thought 'Matilda would want to watch me do this.'"

Helen is remembered for chickening out of brutal trials during her time in the Australian camp in 2012, but this time she has vowed to face her fears.

Speaking before the show began, Helen, who broke up with fiancé Scott Sinclair in July, said: “I am not saying I am going to go in and be a jungle warrior and be absolutely amazing because I will not.

“Yes, I will be scared but I will have a go and I will be a lot better than last time.”

Helen got off to a rocky start while watching Fatima take on the trial, appearing nervous and taking her helmet off.

Many viewers questioned whether Helen would be able to complete her first challenge, but were pleasantly surprised.

One person said: "Didn’t have “being proud of Helen Flanagan” down as part of my Sunday night plan but here we are."

#ImACeleb in particular well done to helen Flanagan...she did really well even if she failed she gave it a good go!"

Elsewhere in the opening episode, Paul Burrell was left screaming when he was bitten by a snake during task.

The former royal butler gave viewers a blast from the past as he recreated the face he became famous for nearly 20 years ago.

The last time he appeared on the challenging ITV show, Paul, 64, gave viewers some iconic moments with his facial expressions.

Introducing himself, Paul told viewers that his life looked very different now: "Since then, my life has changed completely. I was a married man with two children, now I'm divorced and remarried this time to a man."

Also taking part in the all stars edition are former supermodel Janice Dickinson, music legend Shaun Ryder, boxer Amir Khan and Diversity's Jordan Banjo.
