Helen Flanagan has impressed I'm A Celebrity... South Africa viewers as they note how 'mature' she is over a decade after her original jungle stint.
The former Coronation Street actress joined the likes of Carol Vorderman, Shaun Ryder, Gillian McKeith, Paul Burrell, Amir Khan and many more still to enter the All Stars South African jungle. Helen, 32, originally took part in I'm A Celebrity in 2012 when she was just 22 and she has made it her mission to do better than her original stint Down Under.
In 2012, Helen was voted for seven Bushtucker Trials in a row by the public and brought back no food for camp during any of those tasks. Speaking ahead of the new series, she said: “I did the jungle when I was 22. And now I’m 32. Obviously you change, you’re such a different person within 10 years.
"I really wanted to set myself the challenge of doing it. I’m A Celebrity is such an iconic show and it’s so flattering to be asked back.”
She added: “I’m not built for jungle life, but I wanted to go in and do a lot better than the first time. I wanted to be a good campmate and give the challenges a go.”
I'm A Celebrity viewers were impressed with the big change in Helen following on from her jungle stint 11 years ago, and took to social media to praise the mother-of-three. One said: "Helen Flanagan has really matured in the 10 years since her last appearance...22 to 32 really makes a difference. #imacelebrity"
"really great again tonight! loved Shaun & gillian, think Helen is just a darling, & really hope they pick Kirk(andy)," said another. A third added: "If we could vote I think Helen would be a dark horse to win , the personal growth from last time is very clear ! #ImACeleb."
A fourth tweeted: "Helen of 2023 comes across as quite a refined young lady compared to the Helen of her first stint (2012 was it?) #ImACeleb."
"Helen is surprising me this year, she is really getting stuck in. #ImACeleb," another added while someone else echoed: "never expected helen to become the hero of the season but I love it #ImACeleb."
