Helen Flanagan distracts fans as she declares she's entering new 'era' after brushing off backlash

Helen Flanagan found herself causing a distraction to fans as she declared that she was entering a new 'era'. The actress took to Instagram with a new snap of herself looking fresh-faced before jumping into her car.

The former Coronation Street star had her new blonder locks swept away from her face in a butterfly clip and a coffee in her hand as she went to go about her day. But Helen made sure eyes would still be on her as she sported an eye-catching leopard-print coat which boasted pink fur cuffs and matching collar.

And she appeared to be rocking casual attire underneath the long outerwear as fans could just see her pink gym leggings and black trainers. In one snap Helen gave a peace sign to the camera while in the second she looked away from the camera as she fiddled with the clip in her hair, both while stood next to her large car.

"In my divine feminine energy era," she captioned the post. And her followers were soon commenting: @hairtohelp said: "Beautiful energy era always from you my darling." @brikhj wrote: "Well I came here just for this! Divine feminine energy from women who believe that you doing you is the most empowering energy there is. You look amazing, as you also did a few days ago!"

@chelsealouturrell commented: "Loving the balance. Nike trainers with Chanel & Charlotte Simone. Love it!" @dale.birtwistle replied: "Love your energy Helen. Keep shining your feminine power." @lisaculshaw added: "Looking fantastic."

Others, however, couldn't but eye up Helen's motor. @winfield5340 wrote: "Need to sort your scuffed alloy out Helen." @emma280587 laughed: "Your alloys [crying laughing emojis] on par with mine." @jonnytheshrew added: "Watch out for those curbs."

Helen's latest post comes after she spoke out on backlash she received over a plunging outfit she was seen sporting online. The 32-year-old could be seen in the Instagram reel, posted ahead of Valentine's Day on Tuesday (February 14), slipping into a figure-hugging silk skirt while modelling for the camera.

She then swapped her black sports bra for a matching red risqué corset that featured a plunging neckline. Helen, from Bury, accessorised with a black handbag and wore her blonde locks slicked back into a low bun.

Followers of the mum-of-three, who is famed for playing Rosie Webster in ITV's Coronation Street, jumped to her defence after seeing the flack Helen was getting over her post as some weren't impressed by the extravagant display. It comes after she showed off the results of her recent 'confidence-boosting' boob job.

But after taking some time to deal with the backlash, Helen has spoken out. The former soap star took to Instagram with a quote which read: "Empowered women Empower women," as well as sharing a still from her video which showed her looking sensational in her all-red outfit with some of the negative reactions attached.

"So I shared a fashion reel a few days ago and I was a bit taken back from the not so nice comments I got on the post," she began to type. "I was more shocked that the majority of them were from women. I’m a girls girl and very much for other women and I always have another womens back. I don’t believe women should comment negatively about other women.

"I enjoy seeing women feeling glamorous and feeling empowered and dressing how they want to dress. Sometimes I see outfits that I wouldn’t wear as maybe they are too revealing for me but I just think good on the girl that has the confidence to wear what she wants to wear. I had some comments from other women about being 'tacky' or 'unclassy' well to me being a woman and speaking so badly of another womens appearance is 'tacky and unclassy'."

She went on to share how some of the comments also mentioned her daughters, Matilda and Delilah, who she shares with footballer Scott Sinclair as well as son, Charlie. "I never speak badly about how another women looks as it’s just vile. I had comments about not being a good role model to my daughters.

"I will bring up my daughters to be kind, beautiful women that support other women with good morals and girl code. Or you can just scroll past…. On social media you don’t like something you don’t have to comment. I love my account I feel like I really connect with other women and mothers and yeah basically I support other women, I don’t drag them down. As women we need each other."

She then rounded off her post by sharing her thanks to fellow mum and former Made in Chelsea star Ashely James who helped support Helen amid the backlash. "Thankyou @ashleylouisejames for helping me with this and listening to my voice notes," Helen added.
