'Held our nerve' - Leeds United supporters make survival statement after Watford win

Leeds United fans have delivered their verdict on the Whites' 3-0 win over Watford this afternoon. It is a result that has moved Jesse Marsch's side nine points clear of the relegation zone, stretching their unbeaten run to four matches in the meantime.

The Whites were the side who began the brighter and took the lead midway through the first-half as Raphinha fired the ball home from a tight angle. Watford had a couple of opportunities to equalise but were unable to punish the visitors at Vicarage Road.

But it was Leeds who doubled their advantage when Rodrigo pounced on a mistake from Hassane Kamara before tucking the ball past Ben Foster. Marsch's side didn't stop there and added a third in the 85th minute through Jack Harrison, who slammed an effort into the far corner from the edge of the box.

With Burnley winning on Wednesday and Everton beating Manchester United earlier today, it was important that Leeds responded and they did just that with a comfortable win over the 19th-place Hornets. The Whites faithful have been reacting to a vital three points and here is what some had to say on social media.

@AntsTheGamer: Good subs from Jesse. Poor performance in total but that doesn't matter. A point against palace and I think we'll be safe. #lufc

@LeeCox1510: 10 points from a possible 12, just when it matters!!!!

@Rich401_: Meh. Not a good performance, very good result. Enjoy the sun #lufc

@CraigWalker1983: Well done Jesse Marsch. 10 points from the last four games is a great return. The players looked shot against Spurs - fantastic turnaround. #lufc

@PhilAnalyKris: Will worry about performance another day but we held our nerve and did what we needed to do there. Get in! #lufc

@Stephen74415236: 10 points from the last four games now, I know many of you are missing Bielsa, but credit where it’s due, good job Jesse #lufc

@EastStandUpper: The best worst game in the history Leeds United…? Absolute chaos, that. #lufc

@Robertkas88: What were we all worried about, brilliant result!! Massive praise for Sam Greenwood when he came on!! Played both through balls for the 2nd and 3rd goals!! He looked good!!!! Great to see MOT ALAW WAFLL

@Damien_Cms: Fantastic three points. Today was all about being solid at the back and taking our opportunities at the other end of the pitch. I thought that Marsch made the right substitutions at the right times. Meslier made a big contribution with some fantastic saves and a clean sheet. MOT

@smith_ingham: Might not have been the greatest game but a massive result

@SimonNahk: Just another 3 points after this win I think will do the trick. I’ll take more.

@BleacherBumTodd: Get in we’re staying up for another year!!

@ExpatTennisFan: No game for 16 days now. No idea how stressful that would have been had we lost today and fortunately I won't have to find out. #LUFC

@MOTweets1919: A win or a couple of draws now. That’s all it takes. Don’t care how bad performances are. Just get the points and we‘ll focus on getting the system right in the summer #lufc
