Heidi Klum loves seeing her model daughter reimagining her old clothes

Heidi Klum is happy when Leni wears her old outfits

Heidi Klum loves to see her daughter "re-wearing" her outfits.

The 51-year-old supermodel admitted there is a sense of pride when her 20-year-old daughter Leni brings new life to iconic items from the past.

She told People magazine: "I get so excited when I see my daughters re-wearing my clothes.

"My eldest daughter, she also is a model, and she goes to events and when she wears my clothes I’m not just proud but we can upcycle.”

Heidi has Leni with ex-husband Ric Pipino and Lou, 15, Johan, 17, and Henry, 19, with musician ex Seal, 60, who adopted Leni in 2009.

She is enjoying "passing clothes down" to her children, and pointed out how "wrong" it is to just wear an outfit once and then keep it shut away.

She added: "I think it's so important also to keep wearing your things.

"I think in the past, we'd wear something once and then we'd never wear it again, and it's so wrong to do.

"I urge everyone to wear your amazing things that you have in the closet. It's the best shop, your own closet."

Meanwhile, Heidi explained that her children have inspired her to speak out about the environment and the impact of climate change.

She said: "I have four kids and hopefully I will be a grandmother one day and what about my grandkids? We have to think about our tomorrow.

“When I was a kid you knew already it was starting and for people to say there is no climate change, I mean open your eyes around you — it’s happening everywhere.

"There are so many places that I’ve visited where they’re complaining about these things and flooding and everything going on."
