Heidenheim vs Chelsea - LIVE!
Chelsea have continued their fine form in this season’s Europa Conference League by beating Heidenheim 2-0. Second half goals from Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk eventually broke the Bundesliga side’s resistance and ensured the Blues are guaranteed to be playing in Europe in the new year.
Even a red card late on for Cesare Casadei - as a result of two bookable offences - couldn’t dampen what was another impressive outing in the Conference League for Enzo Maresca’s side as they turn their attentions to Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend.
In truth, this was a much sterner test compared to that of FC Noah on matchday three, and Chelsea had Filip Jorgensen to thank as he pulled off a brilliant double save to deny Paul Wanner and Leo Scienza before the game was wrapped up. Furthermore, Maximilian Breunig had a goal disallowed as he was in an offside position prior to his header finding the net but it’s a first defeat in the competition for the Bundesliga outfit.

Chelsea player ratings
20:05 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneJadon Sancho 7
Back in the side for the first time in more than a month and played a hand in Nkunku’s opener, before creating great chance for Dewsbury-Hall. Grew into the game and set-up Mudryk’s second.
Christopher Nkunku 8
Played in what Maresca says is his best position and was heavily involved with smart link up play. Tried to be too clever when lifting decent chance over in first-half, but took next opportunity smartly.

A similar feel to the early part of this game as Chelsea’s trip to Panathanikos.
The atmosphere was crackling and the home side started pretty well, on the front foot. It fizzled out pretty quickly once Chelsea began to control possession, though. Can they do the same here?

“I completely want Christo to stay, there is no idea to allow him to go in January."
Predicted Chelsea XI
