Hector Bellerin ’s Barcelona career has lurched from bad to worse with it being made clear that the former Arsenal defender has virtually no future at the Camp Nou.
The Spaniard completed an emotional return to the Catalan giants last summe r having seen the remainder of his Gunners’ contract cancelled by mutual consent. He penned a one-year deal with Barcelona having been drafted in as an emergency option late in the transfer window.
Speaking after making the move back to Spain, Bellerin said: “For me it was very important. When you grew up at La Masia, it is your greatest dream. I had had opportunities in the past but, for one thing or another, I had not arrived.
“At the moment, I have a one-year contract. I would like to renew, but it depends on both parties.”
Despite hailing the switch back to Barcelona, things have not gone very well for Bellerin at all. The 27-year-old has been afforded just five appearances for the club this season having left boss Xavi uninspired.
It has been claimed that the four-time Spanish international will not be offered fresh terms to stay at the club and his stint with Barca could even end earlier than expected. CalcioMercatoWeb claim that the Spanish giants have planned an audacious swap deal involving the former Arsenal right-back.

It is claimed that he has been offered to Serie A giants Juventus in exchange for French midfielder Adrien Rabiot. Barcelona are apparently keen on the former Paris Saint-Germain star and are aiming to seal a deal for his services in January.
His current employers Juventus are apparently not particularly convinced on the deal though as they believe it would be difficult to find a replacement for the midfielder in the January window. Whilst that could potentially be good news for Bellerin in relation to his Barcelona career, it appears that the Catalan giants have other ideas.
As per Spanish outlet Sport, Barca are intent on adding to their defensive options in the near future. Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard and Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Meunier are among the options being discussed, whilst Napoli’s Giovanni Di Lorenzo could also emerge as an alternative.
A deal for any of the three looks relatively difficult to complete, particularly with Napoli keen to keep Di Lorenzo as they continue to challenge for the Serie A crown. They could however take a different stance in the summer, where Barcelona will be keen to complete a swoop.
Any move for a right-back in the near future will effectively render Bellerin’s career at the Camp Nou as over particularly with his contract expiring in the summer.
