Hector Bellerin goes to desperate measures to force Arsenal exit despite £8.5m problem

Hector Bellerin is willing to waiver the rest of his £5.7million Arsenal salary on his current deal to return to Real Betis next season following a successful loan campaign.

The Spaniard spent last season at the Andalusian side on loan and wishes to return to the club. Indeed, he is willing to sacrifice his whooping salary of £100,000-per-week to secure his dream move - but Arsenal are holding out for a fee of £8.5million.

With the 27-year-old still contracted at the Emirates for another year, he has offered the Gunners to waiver his current salary in order to join the club. Arsenal, as it stands, would prefer to receive a fee for their right-back though..

Bellerin, who previously admitted to falling out of love with football at North London, rediscovered his form at his boyhood club and even helped Manuel Pellegrini's side to the Copa del Rey following a penalty shootout win over Valencia and a fifth finish in the Spanish top-flight.

"Thanks to everyone in the Betis universe for helping me fall in love again with this sport, for all your passion and for making me feel like one of your own from the start," he said on Instagram. "I want to thank my teammates for their kindness, humility, and love since I stepped into the dressing room. You have made me feel like I’ve been a part of this way longer than I have."

Back in October, Bellerin spoke about his future claiming he would like to sign for Betis permanently following the initial loan spell. "I don't know, but I've always said it: if I didn't want to be here next year I wouldn't have come from the beginning," he said.

"There are many things that are yet to be decided but what I want to do is enjoy this year that I am here. And what has to happen will happen."

Following the signing of Fabio Vieira from Porto, Mikel Arteta is also interested in signing Gabriel Jesus and Youri Tielemans - which the sale of Bellerin for just under £10m would aid in their spendings this summer.
