Hector Bellerin delivers honest verdict on Arsenal future amid Real Betis transfer links

Hector Bellerin has delivered an update on his Arsenal future, admitting he is keen to leave the club permanently to join Real Betis this summer.

The Spanish international spent the 2021/22 season on loan with the La Liga club, who he supported growing up, enjoying a solid season as Manuel Pellegrini's side finished fifth, qualifying for the UEFA Europa League in the process. Now, he has made it no secret of his desire to return to the Benito Villamarin Stadium next season, claiming that he has made his feelings clear to the Gunners ahead of the summer transfer window.

“For now, I have to go back (to London)", he told Betis TV’s 'Todo al Verde' via sportzshala. "I have spoken with the two clubs and I have made my position clear to them.

"There are two months ahead to look for the best start for everyone. I made an effort to come and I am willing to make any effort so that this continues to be my home, because I am happy.

"It is also true that I had very nice moments in London, in England. Arsenal has given a lot, the opportunity to be a professional.

"If I leave it, it will be difficult, but hopefully everything goes as we want." Bellerin has made a total of 239 appearances for Arsenal, registering nine goals and 29 assists in the process.

The 27-year-old has also helped the north Londoners clinch three FA Cups, starting in the final in 2015, 2017 and 2020.
