Met Office forecasts heavy rain and possible thunder for North East

After a largely dry Easter weekend for most of the North East, things are turning more unsettled, with the region set to be hit by heavy rain and outbreaks of thunder.

The Met Office has forecast some heavy rain overnight on Easter Sunday and strong winds along the coast, however, it will be milder than previous nights with a minimum temperature of 9 °C.

Monday looks set to be a mixed day of sunny spells and showers across the region, which will be heavy at times, with a risk of hail or thunder. It will also remain windy and feel cooler than Sunday with a maximum temperature of 13 °C.
