Rain is currently moving across the East Coast, with the heaviest rain expected to impact New England. Heavy showers are currently affecting North Georgia, gradually moving up towards the mid-Atlantic region. Areas such as New York City and Boston are at risk of flash flooding today due to the significant rainfall forecasted.

When looking at the rainfall amounts, yellow colors on the map indicate 2 to 3 inches of rain in isolated areas, while orange areas suggest 3 to 5 inches of rain. This intense rainfall is expected to continue throughout today, overnight, and into tomorrow morning, posing a risk of flooding in the affected regions.

Aside from the East Coast weather, severe weather conditions are also being monitored in the South. While there is a small chance of severe weather today, the risk is expected to increase by Thursday, particularly across the central part of Texas. This severe weather threat is then forecasted to move towards the Gulf Coast by Friday.

The current weather pattern reflects a spring-like setup across the eastern half of the country. Despite the relatively mild conditions experienced in this region, the arrival of spring showers is contributing to the dynamic weather situation.
