Heavy police presence called to Cardiff housing estate

Police arrested a man at a Cardiff housing estate after reports of a street disturbance. Three riot vans and two police cars were seen on Monday afternoon at the Hollybush Estate in Whitchurch.

A South Wales Police spokeswoman said on Tuesday: "A 37-year-old man was arrested on the Hollybush estate yesterday afternoon on suspicion of assault, criminal damage, theft and possession of cannabis. He was arrested following reports of disturbance in the street at Lon y Celyn, Whitchurch, at 2.26pm."

WalesOnline understands police arrested the man in a block of flats shortly after the incident in the street. Police seized some suspected cannabis. The police presence had ended by 3.20pm according to locals' comments on social media. You can read more Cardiff stories here.
