Heavy Law Enforcement Presence In Marigny After Truck Attack

Law enforcement officials carry out an operation in Ibarra

Residents of the Marigny neighborhood in New Orleans woke up to a heavy law enforcement presence this morning after a truck attack on Bourbon Street. Police officers and ambulances have cordoned off several blocks around Mandeville Street, with authorities arriving in the area around 6:30 a.m. local time.

While the exact details leading to the law enforcement presence have not been disclosed, the neighborhood is located approximately 1.5 miles from where the attack occurred earlier in the day on Bourbon Street.

In addition to the New Orleans police, members of Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI are also on the scene to assist with the ongoing situation. Residents within the police cordon are being allowed to leave the area but are not permitted to reenter at this time.

The incident has caused concern and heightened security measures in the neighborhood as authorities work to ensure the safety of residents and investigate the circumstances surrounding the truck attack on Bourbon Street.
