Heavy emergency services presence as boy gets stuck on fence in Ilkeston

Multiple emergency service units were called to an incident near a school after a boy got stuck on a fence. Police, ambulance and the fire service were all in attendance at the scene near Ilkeston at around 3.30pm on April 16.

As reported by Derbyshire Live, the incident took place near Kirk Hallam Academy on Godfrey Drive, in Kirk Hallam. Derbyshire Live understands that an air ambulance was called to the scene.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said that a boy had got stuck on a fence. They added that police and paramedics were already in attendance by the time fire crews arrived.

Reports suggest the boy was trying to retrieve a ball and fell on the fence. This has not been confirmed by an official source.
