Heathrow passenger dies at 30,000ft on jumbo jet flight as medics rush to runway

Medics rushed to Heathrow Airport today after a passenger reportedly died on a flight.

The traveller died onboard the United Airlines flight after leaving the United States at Houston for the UK.

The woman was on the nine hour, 10 minute, transatlantic flight UA880, which arrived on schedule at terminal 2 at 7.40am today.

She reportedly went into cardiac arrest in the economy cabin on the flight in front of fellow passengers.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called at 6:33am today to reports of a passenger having suffered a cardiac arrest onboard a flight due to arrive at Heathrow Airport Terminal 2.

"We sent two cycle paramedics and an incident response officer.

'Sadly, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene."
