Tyler Herro was on fire on Wednesday as he showcased his shooting skills for the entire world to see when he almost single-handedly sunk the Lakers aspiration’s that night with his incredible precision from beyond the arc. The Heat guard dropped one shot after another in their historic 134-93 victory.
The 24-year-old scored a total of 31 points against the purple and gold this week, shooting 11-of-19 from the field and 9-of-16 from range. After the game at the Kaseya Center, coach Erik Spoelstra singled out his young player and delivered some special praise for him.
“What I like about it is he’s one of the best shooters on the planet, and he’s ignitable,” the Miami tactician said of Herro during his postgame press conference. “If you just stay with it, at any point, he can go on one of those avalanches.”

Spoelstra warned other teams not to give him space. “But you know, you give him open threes, which the last couple of games, he was getting good looks, and that’s just the nature of the game,” he added. “Sometimes it doesn’t go for you, but those are great looks, and then you’re still able to do other things.”
The Heat coach then explained Tyler’s ability to suddenly shift momentum when he finds his pace. “When he sees, like, three go, it can go to six super fast. And he got 16 attempts up? Imagine if he got 20, Is that unreasonable?”
“Again, it always has to be, you know, the relationship between our attacks and that,” Spo kept at it. “But, you know, our attackers want our guys shooting like that. So we’ll continue to work on that, but the guys are trying to make it easier for each other.”
Herro’s 2024-25 campaign is slowly into the best of his career. The shooting guard is currently averaging 24.1 points per contest, improving his previous career-high of 20.8 points from last year. As of now, he’s also posting the highest assist numbers of his career, with 4.9 per match.
Superstar Jimmy Butler explained recently which one of his teammates reminds him of a younger version of himself
Last week, Jimmy Butler admitted to feeling impressed by one teammate in particular, even saying that he felt that the sky was the limit for him. We are talking about Tyler Herro, who the veteran recognized as one of the best players in the South Beach squad with a bright future.
When asked to further explain Tyler’s impact in recent games, the 35-year-old veteran explained why this teammate reminds him of a younger version of himself. “I think as the game continuously slows down for him, he’s just going to get more and more comfortable and better. It’s really going to be hard for Spo [Erik Spoelstra] to take him off the floor,” he said.
“I like the way that I always see him in early and leaving late,” Butler continued his praise. “Honestly, he reminds me of myself whenever I was younger in this league. He could probably shoot the ball a lot better than I could, though.”
The reason the veteran guard has been going on and on about Tyler, is because his display against Dallas last week was just another testament of his constant growth throughout the years. The sharpshooter posted 18 points, 10 defensive rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal, while shooting 8-for-25 from the field on Sunday.
