Hearts transfer update as Jambos keen on 'a few' players but Neilson sends 'take time' message

Nothing is imminent in Gorgie - but Hearts manager Robbie Neilson says they are still looking to be active in the transfer market.

The Jambos finished off an intense run of pre-season friendlies with a 2-1 win in Gary Locke's testimonial on Saturday against Stoke City. "To be honest, I don’t like pre-season. The games seem false, they’re too slow. I’d rather just turn to for the first proper game and get going.

“We’re still trying to bring a few more in, but to be honest it’s a bit quiet for now. Some deals take time - we were about six weeks working on getting Lawrence Shankland in, but it was worth it.
