Hearts' transfer pursuit of Wolves midfielder takes hit as Jambos and Aberdeen await Bruno Lage call

Hearts are in competition with Aberdeen for the signature of Wolves midfielder Connor Ronan - but both now face a wait to see if they can land the former Republic of Ireland youth international.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage wants to have a look at the 24-year-old before he puts the finishing touches on his squad for the upcoming Premier League campaign, according to the Daily Record. It remains to be seen whether the door is still open for Ronan at Molineux, who has only featured 13 times for them but his contract is still running until 2024.

Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin brought him to Scotland's Premiership in 2021 while he was still St Mirren boss and he went on to have a stellar campaign for the Buddies. Now a reunion with the creative midfielder is being lined up but Hearts have the edge with the guarantee of European group stage football that they can offer to Ronan.
