Hearts will come against a PAOK team whose chairman was once banned from football for three years after storming onto a pitch with a gun.
Ivan Savvidis, a Greek-Russian billionaire, entered the pitch in protest during a crucial title battle with AEK Athens in March 2018 after PAOK had a last minute goal disallowed for offside when the game was at 0-0.
Videos and pictures of the incident show that Savvidis, who had to be restrained, was carrying a gun in a holster around his waist.
The Greek Super League disciplinary committee docked PAOK three points and awarded AEK a 3-0 win after the game was abandoned, ending their title chances.
And although Savvidis apologised for his actions he was banned from entering all football stadia for three years.
At the time Savvidis said: “I wish to apologise to all PAOK supporters, Greek fans and the international football community.
"I am deeply sorry for what happened. I had absolutely no right to enter the pitch the way I did.
“My emotional reaction stems from the widespread negative situations prevailing in Greek football lately and from all the unacceptable, non sports-related events that took place towards the end of the PAOK-AEK Athens encounter.”
After overcoming Rosenborg, Hearts will host PAOK team next Thursday in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off clash before travelling to Greece seven days later.
