Hearts star Craig Gordon back in gym just ONE month after double leg break as rehab journey begins

Craig Gordon is already in the gym working hard on a return just ONE month after a double leg break.

The Hearts No1 suffered the horror injury in the Christmas Eve clash with Dundee United but has already showed major signs of improvement with the club sharing a clip of the veteran skipper pushing weights as he looks to strengthen up his leg. He's aiming to be back for the start of pre-season and looks well on course for that target.

Speaking at the time of the injury boss Robbie Neilson said: “Our thoughts first and foremost are with Craig and his young family. It’s been an incredibly distressing time for them, especially at Christmas, and everyone at the club is here to offer them our full support. It is obviously massive blow to lose a player as influential as Craig for the rest of the season but to be honest, all anyone is thinking of right now is about his wellbeing.

“I’ve known Craig for a long, long time and he’s a warrior. He’s faced injury adversity before and come back stronger, so I’ve no doubt that he’ll approach this in the same manner.

“For now, it’s about rest and recuperation. There is no pressure on him as he’ll get the best medical care and rehabilitation facilities possible at Hearts.

“I’d also like to thank our medical team and the NHS Scotland staff at Ninewells for giving Craig the best possible care in what was a challenging situation.”

The video footage that was uploaded on social media has delighted fans - and not just Hearts ones - who can't quite believe the progress the 40-year-old has made in such a short space of time.

One wrote: "This is absolute wizardry."

Another said: "The man isn’t human.

A further supporter commented: "That’s our captain, bloody machine this man is."

Zander Clark has been drafted in as No1 in the absence of the Scotland international and has excelled for the Gorgie side. He kept a clean sheet in the Scottish Cup win over Hibs at Easter Road to make it four for the club in just seven outings.
