Hearts star Cammy Devlin's tears of joy after Australia World Cup call revealed by Graham Arnold

Graham Arnold has revealed Cammy Devlin had tears of joy after learning he would be going to the World Cup with Australia.

The Socceroos boss revealed his 26-man squad earlier this morning with a host of SPFL stars making the cut for the flight to Qatar. Hearts duo Kye Rowles and Nathaniel Atkinson join Devlin as representatives from Tynecastle while capital rivals Hibs are represented by Martin Boyle. Celtic's Aaron Mooy is also in the squad as is former Easter Road favourite Jason Cummings - now starring at Central Coast Mariners.

Arnold has hailed the role Devlin is playing at club level hailing him as doing 'exceptionally well' as he opened up on his conversation with one of Robbie Neilson's star men when delivering the big news.

Speaking about Devlin's emotional reaction, Arnold said: "The great stories, when you ring up a kid like Cammy Devlin, whose doing exceptionally well at Hearts, and ask him what he's doing over the next few weeks? The kid says, 'I don't know where I need to be at that moment', and I say 'you're going to come to Qatar'. He breaks down in tears.

"Letting these kids fulfil their dreams is incredible. Those stories and those moments are great. The hard stories outweigh them a little bit at the moment but once we see those boys we will be right."

Australia face a tough task later this month as they bid to cause a massive shock in their section with heavyweights France part of their group.

Denmark and Tunisia are also in the section with Australia hoping to make the world stand up and take notice when the tournament kicks-off in a couple of weeks time.
