St Mirren's lead sport scientist Junior Mendes has worked his last shift for the Paisley club as he prepares to switch to Premiership rivals Hearts.
The former Saints striker, who had two spells with the club as a player, has been with the club's backroom staff since November 2018.
Now he is set to take on a new challenge at Tynecastle, with the Buddies Scottish Cup victory over Ayr United his last match working with St Mirren.
Saints boss Jim Goodwin admits Mendes will be a tough act to follow and revealed the 45-year-old was emotional to say goodbye to his colleagues at Somerset Park.
Goodwin told stmirrentv: "We're all gutted to be losing him, to be honest.
"I spoke to him after the game at Ibrox and he told me he'd been offered a really good position at Hearts.
"Junior recently moved through to Edinburgh, so obviously logistically it's a lot better without all of the travelling.
"He felt the offer Hearts had put to him was too good to turn down.
"He was quite emotional after the game because he has good ties here to the club.
"He was a very important player and then came back on the staff side of things.
"I didn't know him prior to taking the job three seasons ago but he has been an invaluable member of the backroom team.
"I've loved getting to know him. He's become a really good friend and I'll certainly keep in contact and he knows he's always welcome back at St Mirren any time he fancies it.
"We wish him well, we're sorry to lose him and he'll be difficult to replace."
