Hearts player ratings v Hibs as Zander Clark derby masterclass earns European spot for Jambos

Hearts had to dig deep on the last day of the season as they kept their grip on fourth spot after a 100 minutes long derby.

Steven Naismith's men only needed a point against their city rivals to secure a shot at the Europa Conference League again next season.

Yutaro Oda gave the Jambos the perfect start with a stunning finish from just outside the box. But the celebrations were short lived. A double blow on the half hour mark saw Alex Cochrane sent off and Kevin Nisbet striking home from a free kick. Hearts then had to cling on for the rest of the half with Zander Clark pulling off terrific saves to keep things all square at the break.

After the interval Hearts had to weather a storm as Hibs piled on the pressure. But heroics from Clark kept the city rivals out with Hearts resolute in defending their box as Lee Johnson's men threw everything at it. Fans literally had their hearts in their mouth after Hibs struck the post with 10 minutes to go but their side rallied to see out the game, despite nine minutes being added on at the end.

Here's how we rated the boys in maroon as they clung onto fourth spot.

Zander Clark - 8

Incredible derby day performance from the Hearts keeper. Pulled off some massive saves to ensure Hearts clung onto fourth. Will be disappointed after being beaten at the free kick but ultimately a terrific display from the Scotland man.

Peter Haring - 3

Suffered a nasty head knock after a clash with Jake Doyle-Hayes. Was replaced by Kio inside the opening 20 minutes. A disappointing end for the man who just penned a one year extension.

Kye Rowles - 6

Slotted into right back to provide cover after Alex Cochrane's red card. Had plenty of defending to do and handled Hibs threats well.

James Hill - 7

A strong display on his last game for Hearts. Battled as Hibs flung everything into the box.

Nathaniel Atkinson - 5

A dogged second half display helped Hearts cling on to fourth spot.

Alex Cochrane - 3

On the end of another unlucky moment in a matter of weeks as he faced red again for stopping a clear goal-scoring opportunity. The VAR flashpoint saw his yellow upgraded after he brought Cadden down as he darted into the box. Handed Hibs a huge advantage.

Cammy Devlin - 5

A weaker display from the battling midfielder. Caught sleeping at the free kick as Nisbet found a gap to strike home the equaliser.

Barry McKay - 5

Drifted out to the game and never showed the creative spark he's capable off. A poor display.

Yutaro Oda - 7

Gave his side the perfect start netting his first goal for the club. Like his fellow countrymen at Celtic the Japanese star is capturing the imagination of the Tynecastle crowd and put in a spirited performance.

Josh Ginnelly - 5

Rarely made an impact as he spent much of the second 45 in his own half.

Lawrence Shankland - 6

Led by example as he rallied his side to hold onto the point and keep Hibs at bay.

Orestis Kiomourtzoglou - 5

Switched on for the injured Haring. Steady performance.

Tony Sibbick - 3

Came on to provide a vital block from Youan's strike.

Alan Forrest - 3

Brought on for Oda to add fresh legs to the side.
