Hearts manager Robbie Neilson in 'strong referees' dig following loss to Celtic

Robbie Neilson in 'strong referees' Kevin Clancy dig following Celtic loss

HEARTS manager Robbie Neilson has taken aim at referee Kevin Clancy in the wake of his side's defeat against Celtic.

The Jambos went down 2-0 at Parkhead this afternoon, as the champions maintained their perfect start to the campaign.

Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis bagged the goals for the Hoops.

Celtic were dominant in terms of the play, but Hearts still caused them issues at times during the game.

In the closing stages, Alex Cochrane and Toby Sibbick were given their marching orders for two double-bookings.

And Neilson insists strong officials are needed if any team is to get a result against either Celtic or Rangers in Glasgow - something he clearly feels was missing today.

He told the media: "When you come here you need strong referees. When you don't get that it can be difficult.

"We made 11 fouls, got two red cards and five bookings. Celtic made 12 fouls and they got nothing.

"That's the difficulty when you come to Glasgow. You need that strength and I don't think we had that today."
