Hearts land Scottish Cup TV slot with Friday night fixture against Hamilton confirmed

Hearts will kick off Scottish Cup fifth round weekend with a TV date under the lights.

Robbie Neilson takes his Premiership high-flyers to face Scottish Championship strugglers Hamilton Accies with a quarter-final date up for grabs for the winner of the tie. The men from the capital secured their spot at this stage with a thumping Edinburgh derby win over Hibs. They ran out 3-0 winners in their city rivals own backyard to make it a second win over them in 2023.

John Rankin and his troops caused an upset by defeating Ross County on penalties and will be out to cause an even bigger one when they welcome the finalists from last season. The Jambos lost 2-0 to Rangers in the showpiece last year and will be dreaming of lifting the famous old trophy this time around and they can move one step closer by defeating Hamilton.
