Ciara Grant's 93rd-minute penalty for Hearts held Rangers to a draw meaning Malky Thomson’s side are now five points behind league leaders Glasgow City with as many league games remaining.
Rangers looked in control after Sam Kerr netted but Hannah Davison tried to shepherd the ball out for a goal-kick and hauled down Cailin Michie with Grant converting from the spot. Celtic host Rangers on Thursday with that game a key one in the battle for the title.
Fran Alonso’s side kept up their recent form with a comfortable 3-0 win over Hibs courtesy of goals from Amy Gallacher, Chloe Craig and Natasha Flint. "I liked how we played and we had total control of the game,” said Alonso. “We lacked a bit of clinicality in the final third but I was pleased given it was on the back of a week where we had had three games.
“Over the last four games every first-team player has had an impact on the squad and I am happy about that. It is three points, a clean sheet and five games to go. I know whoever we play on Thursday they will give everything.”
Glasgow City got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Partick Thistle. Bea Prades and Lauren Davidson netted to give City the points on the back of three successive defeats but Leanne Ross said: “The result was the only positive thing about it. It was a poor performance from start to finish and I told the players that things need to be a lot better.”
Elsewhere, Motherwell beat Aberdeen 2-0, Spartans saw off Glasgow Women 1-0 and Hamilton drew 1-1 with Dundee United.
