Hearts and Hibs Scottish Cup quarter-finals to be broadcast live on BBC Scotland as dates confirmed

Hearts and Hibs' Scottish Cup quarter-finals are to be broadcast live on BBC Scotland.

The dates and times of the ties have been confirmed as the Jambos host St Mirren at Tynecastle on Saturday, March 12.

The Gorgie clash will kick off at 7.45pm and will be beamed out to the nation live on the BBC Scotland channel as Jam Tarts gaffer Robbie Neilson meets new Buddies boss Stephen Robinson in the dugout.

Hearts beat Livingston on penalties in the last round, while the Saints recorded a 4-0 win over League Two Kelty Hearts.

The Hibees, meanwhile, travel to Motherwell on Sunday, March 13, with kick-off for that last-eight meeting confirmed as 12.30pm.

The game in Lanarkshire will be broadcast live on BBC One Scotland as Shaun Maloney's side look to find a way past Graham Alexander's Steelmen.

The Easter Road men downed Arbroath 3-1 in the last 16, while Motherwell edged out Aberdeen to make it to this stage.

Both Edinburgh sides have relatively recent success to point to in the competition - with Hibs winning it in 2016 and the Jambos in 2012.

They'll be hoping to go all the way again and may even meet each other along the way.
