Hearts and Aberdeen 'get green light' for Connor Ronan transfer battle from Wolves

Hearts and Aberdeen have been given the go-ahead to battle it out for the signature of Connor Ronan.

Wolves have reportedly decided to put the 24-year-old up for sale this summer.

And that is likely to spark a bidding war between the Premiership duo.

The Irishman impressed on loan at St Mirren last season.

And now the Scottish Sun say despite having two years left on his contract, the English Premier League outfit have decided it is time to sell the midfielder.

Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin snapped up Ronan while in charge at St Mirren before making the switch to Pittodrie and is keen on a reunion this summer.

Hearts are also interested in the midfielder and can offer him guaranteed European group stage football as an incentive to make the move to the capital.

Wolves reckon he won't make an impact on their first-team set up in the coming year so have decided it is time to allow a permanent move out of the club after moving out on loan six times in the last four years.

The Premiership duo have both been active in the transfer market already this summer.
