Tributes have been paid to a teenage girl with her "whole life ahead of her" after she died in a tragic lake incident.

The mum said the 15-year-old was "capable of anything" in a heartbreaking tribute.

"My girl had her whole life ahead of her she was capable of anything and it's all been ripped away," said Ms Madden, in an emotional post online.

"We are all devastated beyond words and my life will never be the same again.

"I love you Erin with my heart and soul forever and always."

Emergency services were called to the reservoir on Thursday, with Merseyside Police confirming the body of a teenage girl was recovered from the water.

Erin had been swimming with friends at the time when she got into difficulty, Liverpool ECHO reports.

Her friends called for help at around 12.30pm and search teams entered the water in attempts to find her.
