Hear'Say star Suzanne Shaw looked like she'd turned back time as she shared a 'Botox free' selfie after celebrating two years of being sober.
The mum-of-two, 40, who shot to fame on reality show Popstars in 2001, told fans she'd had a "temperamental relationship" with alcohol, revealing she'd "pass out after a bottle of wine in the most inappropriate of places including once at a charity event."
However, the singer has now been sober for 30 months and posted a beautiful snap of her, which was 'Botox and filler free'.
Glowing in a grey lycra vest, a make-up free Suzanne said: "I am showing up in this reel as me! No filters, fillers or Botox or makeup contouring! Just me. As I’m sure you can see
"It is nice to get made up and feel sexy in an outfit, I do understand that, but what I’m talking about here is the pressure to live and look a certain way that can be damaging, costly and unnecessary but we will only realise it’s unnecessary if we speak about it more and be ok with who we are. Let’s work on being enough, work on our health and well-being instead of quick fixes and disguises.
"Beauty is who you truly are, how you show up to the world with compassion and kindness, not a line free face or plump lips! Be you."
Suzanne spoke about the world's obsession with the Kardashians, saying she 'didn't get it', but agreed so many of us feel the need to confirm to the current ideals of beauty.
Admitting she dabbled with Botox in the past, the singer said it only brought out her insecurities.
"I went through a Botox phase and all that did was highlight that I still wasn't enough," she said.
"It made me look at other areas and self sabotage and obsess. So unhealthy. It's so worrying. It's okay to have wrinkles and not have designer stuff."
The positive post went down a storm with Suzanne's fans with many congratulating the star for her honesty.
One said: "I love your heart Suzi. And I whole heartedly agree. Let’s keep opening up this honest conversation and freeing people to be happy with their natural selves."
While another shared: "Well said Not drinking alcohol is the best thing you can do for your skin especially as you age. "I’m 50 Botox-free and yup the wrinkles are coming… but so important to celebrate ageing because let’s face it not everyone does..." (sic).
