A "charismatic and inspirational" super-headteacher who ran three primary schools has died suddenly at the age of 45 after collapsing at work.
Darren Webb, executive head of the Coppice Primary Partnership, suffered a heart attack late on Monday afternoon.
The partnership, which runs Coxheath Primary School, Loose Primary School and St Katherine's Primary School and Nursery in the Maidstone area of Kent, are offering bereavement support for devastated children and staff.
Under Mr Webb's leadership Loose Primary School was transformed from being on the verge of special measures to being rated outstanding by education watchdog Ofsted in just two years.
Head of trustees Carole Hardy confirmed the tragic news in an email sent to parents.
It reads: "It is with great sadness that I am emailing all parents to inform you that Darren Webb, our Executive Headteacher, passed away late this afternoon.
"Darren had a sudden heart attack and despite all efforts he could not be resuscitated.
"Darren was a charismatic and inspirational leader, whose values led us all to work towards the best outcomes for all children in our Trust.
"I know that you will join me in sending our condolences to his wife Claire and his children at this very difficult time.
"We would greatly appreciate parents supporting us by explaining the situation to their children before they come to school tomorrow.
"You will understand how difficult this will be for school staff and children tomorrow and over the coming weeks. The school will be arranging appropriate bereavement support for both staff and children.
"I know that Darren would wish us all to continue to offer the best for all the children and we will strive to deliver his vision and uphold his ethos and values."
Three pages of The Parliamentary Review of Primary Education issued to lords and MPs at Westminster in 2018 detailed how the 45-year-old transformed Loose Primary School between 2014 and 2016.
