Manchester United fans have been sharing their reactions to Xavi's latest comments on Frenkie de Jong.
United's pursuit of the Dutch midfielder has arguably been the transfer saga of the summer as they continue the battle to bring him to Old Trafford. After agreeing a deal in principle with Barcelona last month, United are believed to be struggling to persuade De Jong to move to Manchester.
During pre-season, Barca have been playing De Jong in an unfamiliar centre-back role and their manager has now spoken about the player's future. "We've had private conversations that are very important and that I will not reveal here," Xavi explained.

"He's a key player, but then there's the economic situation and Financial Fair Play. I'm not sending messages to anyone.
"I like him a lot as a player. Playing as a centre-back he can give us a lot, he can adapt to that position.
"We want it that the centre-back distributes the ball and he does that very well." Following this latest development in the seemingly endless saga, MEN Sport's United readers have been sharing their thoughts on the situation.
MIKEYG67: "As I've said for six weeks LEAVE him at Barcelona. He ain't that good anyway otherwise Barcelona wouldn't sell."
Ruud: "Someone should remind Erik ten Hag that Frenkie only had three goals and four assists in an impoverished La Liga last season. We should seriously flip the cards and ask Barca for a huge discount to take him off their hands."
Stevieb_one: "He doesn't want to come, his wife doesn't want to come. Leave him be and get someone who does. Time is running out."
Molotov: "So now it comes down to whether Frenkie de Jong will accept a pay cut and to be redefined as a centre-back just to play at his 'dream club'? Alternatively, he can come to United, play in his favoured position, earn a packet and be appreciated and supported by fans through thick and thin, rather than waving white hankies at the first sign of trouble."
Dazeddie: "Sounds like the conversation was that he will be leaving once Barca sort his wages as Xavi is not exactly going crazy about him and they free up funds."
