A DEALER who was caught on a police recording device arguing with her boyfriend while delivering half-a-kilo of cocaine to a Sydney address has pleaded guilty to drug supply in a Newcastle court.
Charnye Jorjah Tomlinson, 25, lived at a rental near Maitland with her partner Rodney Grills, who is facing a maximum of life in jail after police stung him with 2.4kg of methamphetamine in August last year.
According to court documents, Grills is above a street level dealer and exchanged ounces for tens of thousands of dollars.
On August 4, 2023, Tomlinson and Grills jumped in his grey BMW which had been fitted with a police surveillance device.
The sound of cash being counted and rummaging around the car was heard on the recording, as the pair tried to hide the package of cocaine in the glove box.
"Pass that shit here, how do you get this open? Does that come open?" Grills was heard saying to Tomlinson.
"You said this wasn't a good spot for it," she replied.
"It's better than what we've f----- got at the moment, can't get the thing under the seat open. Is it gonna fricking fit?" Grills said.
Once the pair had shoved the cocaine into the glove box, Grills said, "That's alright, it's good, perfect" before the pair started the drive to Sydney about 2.03pm.
Grills told Tomlinson to message the buyer explaining the package of cocaine would cost $21,000 for 504 grams.
About two hours later, they arrived at the St Clair home and argued over whether or not to park in the street.
"Don't go in his f----- street," Tomlinson said.
"He said side street, idiot."
Grills struggled to retrieve the package from the glove box, when Tomlinson told him he "really farked it".
"Yeah, just pull it out so all the neighbours can see," she said.
Grills got out of the car, finished the deal and gave the person $21,000 in cash.
In exchange, court documents show a total of $150,000 was debited from his debt to an unknown person.
Grills received a benefit of $129,000, $150,000 minus the $21,000 cash, from the cocaine supply.
On the drive home, Grills started to raise concerns about running into police.
"I've never been this way ever, I hope this is the way on Waze so it says there's no coppers," he said.
"Or otherwise you've led me straight into coppers."
Tomlinson told him, "You've led yourself straight into coppers".
"Do you ever just shut the f--- up? I don't know, I'm telling you if I get pinched now it is on you, you know it is on you, you set me up. F---- you."
Unbeknown to him, police had been tracking Grills and listening to his every conversation for months, where they later heard him planning a "dead drop" drug pickup and then talking about the "two and a half kilo" of ice in his boot on August 14, last year.
When he was almost home, police swooped on Grills and searched the concealed compartments in his BMW.
Inside were three large vacuum sealed bags containing a total of 2.4kg of methamphetamine with a purity of about 80 per cent.
Before the haul of meth was found in the boot, police had been building a case against Grills, watching and listening as he supplied amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine to customers across the Hunter and Central Coast between April and August last year.
Grills pleaded guilty to supplying a large commercial quantity of methamphetamine; supplying a commercial quantity of cocaine and two counts of supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis in Newcastle Local Court in July.
Grills will next appear in Newcastle District Court in August to get a sentence date.
Tomlinson was arrested in December last year and was interviewed at Maitland Police Station.
When the recordings were played to her, she said "no comment". Tomlinson was charged with supplying a prohibited drug and will face Newcastle District Court on August 29.
