'He hasn't changed anything' - Manchester United great provides damning Ralf Rangnick verdict

Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole has delivered a damning assessment of Ralf Rangnick's short time in charge at Old Trafford.

The German joined the club on a temporary basis last year after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked following a poor run of form.

It was hoped that Rangnick's appointment would help get United's season back on track as they look to secure a place in next season's Champions League, though Cole has been left unimpressed by the impact he's made.

Speaking to the Premier League, Cole said: "I think Man United this season have been very disappointing.

"Considering the way they started the season, bigger things were expected of them. They’ve failed to deliver.

"The change of manager, for me personally, hasn’t changed anything.

"You’re always looking for a bit more energy when a manager changes and we’ve seen nothing like that."

Rangnick is expected to take up a consultancy role in the summer as United look to appoint a permanent manager, with Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino understood to be the frontrunners to take the reins at Old Trafford.
