HE company secures major new office deal in Birmingham

A company which provides higher education has sealed a huge new office letting deal in Birmingham city centre.

QA Higher Education has taken 45,000 sq ft of space across five floors of Louisa Ryland House, in Newhall Street, on a 15-year deal.

The business will relocate from its current base at the Centre City building, in Hill Street, following completion of the deal.

QAHE works in partnership with seven UK universities to recruit and deliver more than 100 foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. It has bases across the country including in London, Manchester and Cardiff.

Grade II-listed Louisa Ryland House has recently undergone a multimillion-pound refurbishment and now comprises 80,000 sq ft of grade A office accommodation over six floors.

The renovation work includes an external courtyard, café, showers and changing rooms and cycle facilities as well as co-working space and flexible offices operated by Re-Defined.

Theo Holmes, head of office agency at CBRE in Birmingham which markets the building, said: "The letting to QAHE means the building completes with an anchor tenant and flex service provider in place."

Property agencies JLL and Daniel Watney also advised on the lease deal.
