'He brings fire' - Brenden Aaronson provides insight into Leeds United and USMNT teammate Tyler Adams

Brenden Aaronson is backing his international teammate Tyler Adams to make a huge impact with Leeds United. The pair know each other well having represented the United States together on a number of occasions and they have linked up in West Yorkshire this summer following Aaronson’s switch from Red Bull Salzburg and Adams’ move from RB Leipzig.

Adams has made two appearances in a Leeds United shirt during the club’s pre-season tour of Australia, stepping off the bench in the second half of Leeds’ win over Brisbane Roar in Gold Coast before starting the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane a few days later. Both outings have provided plenty of promise and Leeds fans will be keen to see him continue his progress under Jesse Marsch on Friday when the Whites take on Crystal Palace at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

Of course, the midfielder is still settling into life at Elland Road, but Aaronson is confident he can be a success in white.

“He brings fire,” the 21-year-old said about Adams. “The best I can say is he’s going to bring tenacity to go out and try to win every ball and play for the team.

“That’s his attributes, he can combine well, he can start the attack for us and he’s so good defensively closing down balls.

“Jesse likes to say do more than two things, don’t just focus on one player, it’s find of marking more space, but Tyler is so good at reading when to break up play and move forward.”

Adams isn’t the only familiar face in camp for Aaronson, with Rasmus Kristensen joining him by making the move from Salzburg to West Yorkshire. Kristensen has been one of Leeds’ most impressive Down Under and supporters certainly like what they’ve seen from the right-back.

“Everyone has seen Rasmus has had a fantastic start,” Aaronson added. “He knows the system so well and he’ll be flying up and down the wing and putting in challenges.

“That’s his game, he’s such a good player and I’m really happy to have them both here.”
