Forget flipping on cable to catch random episodes of “Friends.” Now HBO Max will do that for you.
The streaming service has rolled out a shuffle button to randomize episodes within 45 series that don’t quite require seasons’ worth of plot and character research, including “The Big Bang Theory,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Office,” “The Nanny” and “Rick & Morty.”
That’s a different version than Netflix’s own shuffle button, which chooses an entire new show for viewers based on their watch history, rather than an episode within a selected show.
For now, the button is only available on HBO Max for desktop.
