Staff at a West Lothian nursing home have thanked the daughter of a resident who raised £850 to help fund activities for the OAPs.
Hazel Ross and her Dad Robert used to love staying active together and often went for runs until unfortunately he took became unwell and became a resident at Woodlands Care Home.
Robert’s wife Margaret, Hazel’s step mum, has also recently become a resident of Woodlands so when choosing an organization to raise money for she wanted to help a cause close to home.
Hazel was delighted to hand over £850 to the residents’ fund by running the Manchester Marathon.
Jasmin Crawford, activities coordinator at Woodlands, explained: “When Hazel first approached me she joked that she might only raise £50 but absolutely smashed it and raised £850!
“The money she has raised has been donated to the residents’ fund which helps to pay for events, day trips, entertainment, art supplies and much more all of which contribute to the wellbeing of our residents and helps to keep their spirits lifted! As a thank you from the staff and residents we presented Hazel with a card and a gift voucher for Dobbies so that she can get herself a well deserved treat.”
