A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of 16-year-old Kamari Johnson in Hayes.
The 17-year-old boy appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, Scotland Yard said in a statement.
He was arrested on Saturday by detectives investigating Kamari’s murder.
Detectives have asked for any witnesses or anyone with information about the altercation which took place in the vicinity of Bourne Avenue and Nine Acre Close in Hayes at roughly 1.30pm on Friday to come forward and speak to police.
The statement added: “We understand the impact this has had on the local community and are thankful for their continued support as this investigation continues.
“Local residents will continue to see an increased police presence in and around the area; anyone with concerns is asked to speak to them or call police on 101.”
