Hawthorn have trumpeted their AFL home-ground advantage at Launceston as being worth an extra win per season.
The Hawks' deal has been extended by another two years until the end of the 2027 season, with the Tasmanian Devils joining the AFL in 2028.
They host four games per season at Launceston and since the deal started in 2001 they have won 61 out of 82 matches there - a winning ratio of nearly 75 per cent.
"We have such a competitive advantage there," Hawks coach Sam Mitchell said in a club statement.
"On-field as the current head coach and I would say over my playing time, we probably averaged an extra win per season because of the four games.
"We love going there, we love spending time there, but we also love winning there and we seem to have been able to do that on a pretty consistent basis."
Hawthorn president Andy Gowers said Launceston is a "happy hunting ground" for the team.
"With the Tasmanian Devils due to make their debut in the competition in 2028, this extension is the perfect fit for the footy-loving public in Launceston.
It is unclear what will happen to Hawthorn's Launceston deal once the Devils join the league. But the Hawks made clear their enthusiasm for the arrangement in Monday's announcement.
