Haven has last minute family holidays from £3pp a night for April and May

Haven Holidays currently has a series of budget breaks up for grabs for families this April and May.

There are a number of two-bed, four-person caravans on offer for £48 for four nights - that works out at £3 a night per person.

If you love the British countryside or have a couple of little ones who need to blow off some steam in the great outdoors, then a last minute trip to a Haven resort may be in order.

The deal is currently running at the Wild Duck park in Norfolk, which is nestled in woodland and has some great forest trails and hidden clearings to play in.

Births are also available at the Orchard park in Clacton-on-Sea, lovely location set in a selection of seawater creeks.

Caravans at the Golden Sands park in Lincolnshire are also part of the deal, where families can enjoy miles upon miles of golden sandy beaches, great dunes of the Humber Estuary and the rolling hills of the Wolds.

You can book the holidays on the Haven website here but it's worth noting that the cheapest deals are subject to availability.

For those who are considering an escape from the UK over the next few weeks, a trip over the Coronation weekend could be the answer for sticking to a budget.

The majority of people are flocking into the country, meaning flights going the other way can be bagged for a relatively small amount.

There are some tempting deals to be found, with return flights from £33 to the likes of Ireland, Poland and France.

To offer a helping hand, Skyscanner has unveiled some of the cheap return flights up for grabs if you fly from Saturday May 6 through to Monday May 8, with deals including London Stansted to Billund (Denmark) from £37 return, Liverpool to Paris (France) from £52 return and London Stansted to Cologne (Germany) from £55 return.

Laura Lindsay, travel trends and destination expert at Skyscanner, recommends the Polish city of Gdansk as an ideal location to get away from all the royal hubbub.

“With a short two-hour flight time and walkable centre, Gdansk is the perfect place for a mini break," she said.

"Get your bearings with a walking tour and delve into the city's history, take a river cruise or head to the beach – Gdansk has so much to offer for couples, families and solo travellers looking for an affordable alternative.

“Spending three days in these lesser-known cities won’t break the bank either; whether it be a pint of Guinness or craft beer on Gdansk’ famous ‘Ulica Piwna’ (Beer Street), each destination offers an excellent array of affordable eateries to raise a toast, or two, to the new King.”
