Have You Seen Fortnite's Dragon Eggs Yet? Here's How To Find Them

Fortnite

Usually by this point in the season, Fortnite would be teasing some great mystery whether it’s a sky rift or a cube rolling around or what have you. The only thing that seems to qualify as that is the constantly melting castle of Polar Peak, which is slowly revealing its true form as the seasons press on.

I didn’t realize this until recently, but there are actually eggs in the castle’s keep, an area that a few people glitched into weeks ago, but now you can actually get there yourself. And judging by the fact that this is a castle, these eggs are huge and appear to have scales on them, the implication is that these are dragon eggs, and they might be more than just easter eggs (no pun intended), but could end up being the defining event that reshapes Fortnite for upcoming seasons. And now, new clues are popping up that suggest that might exactly what’s happening.

So, if you want to see the eggs for yourself, how do you get there? Start by landing at Polar Peak, and walk down the side of the castle through this entryway.

Fortnite

This will take you to a room where the center is entirely frozen, but you can move around the edges where there will be a lot of vases. Go down the first row of vases to your right, then turn left, then stop at the first face and start hacking the floor.

You will drop down into the “prison level” of the castle which features a number of iron cells (though none secured, and this is where there are apparently at least four dragon eggs being kept.

The center of this place is also frozen like the room above, but you can work your way around in an L shape in the dungeon where you will also see restraints and what appears to be a sarcophagus or torture device, a unique item that doesn’t appear anywhere else on the map.

There’s also a secret entrance that goes directly to the dragon room in the back side of the mountain. Easy escape access once they hatch?

And today, we can add some new clues into the mix. Epic has added a new set of wacky looking skins that appear to be Dark Souls mixed with some sort of Japanese subculture, but the set is the “Ouroboros,” and both skins have the symbol on their shirts. Usually when you think of that symbol it’s a snake eating its own tail, but here? It’s a dragon, which is more rare to see. And Epic has the teaser “the cycle begins.”

Fortnite

Granted, I’m thinking of Game of Thrones specifically here, but in that show, the cycle was that dragons hatched, ruled the world, died out, and then were born again with Daenerys dragon eggs, bringing magic back to the world. Given that Fortnite is frequently influenced by pop culture, I would not be surprised if this was the “cycle” being referred to here, and the dragons ended up being a map-reshaping cataclysm that we’ve come to expect every season. Hell, they could even be vehicles, given that this is a season that brought us planes for the first time. I’m not putting anything past Epic.

Anyway, go see the dragon eggs for yourself if you haven’t yet, they’re pretty cool. And stay tuned for whatever madness happens next.
