After being called in as Tommy Fury's replacement for his fight against Jake Paul next month, Hasim Rahman Jr has promised to 'humble' the American YouTube star and inflict the first defeat of his career.
Rahman Jr is a full-time professional heavyweight boxer and has a good record, with 12 wins (6 KO) and just a single defeat in his career to date. He was called in after Fury was unable to meet Paul's ultimatum to fix his visa issues preventing him from entering the US.
This came before Fury's father, John, said that his son was ' wasn't exactly in training ' ahead of the fight which was due to take place on August 6, these are claims which Fury denies. His replacement Rahman Jr is a former sparring partner of Paul's and the son of former heavyweight champion of the world, Hasim Rahman.

As ever with fights involving Paul, there has been plenty of talk in the build-up to the event, which also includes Amanda Serrano vs Brenda Carbajal as co-headline at Madison Square Garden on August 6. This will be the largest stage that Rahman Jr has fought on and he has been speaking to his fans as the fight nears via Instagram Live
Sparring footage of the pair was leaked, and Rahman Jr was asked questions regarding whether or not his style would match up to what was seen on video, to which he replied: “You know what time it is. Not playing no game. Walk him down. Walk him down. Walk him down. I’m not changing my game plan. Why would I change?”
“He [Paul] needs humbling. He needs some humble pie”. The pair are believed to have clashed in sparring and the fight will be subject to a private weigh-in as part of the fight terms, with Fight Freaks Unite reporting that the fighters will be contractually required to weigh no more than 214lbs at 12pm on the day of the fight. Paul, who has sparred with Rahman Jr in the past, regularly weighs in at 190lbs for his fights.
