Chris Sutton hasn't been shy in trading verbal barbs with Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell.
The pair have been involved in several social media exchanges since Cantwell's arrival at Ibrox in January.
However, Sutton reckons Cantwell can live up to his early promise at Rangers - even if he hasn't won anything in Scotland yet.
The Celtic hero previously appeared to call out Cantwell over an alleged dive with the Ibrox midfielder responding to a poser on the best pundit in Scotland with the remark: "I can tell you it isn't Chris Sutton".
Despite the back-and-forth between the pair, Sutton has admitted Cantwell has it in him to succeed at Rangers.
But he quickly warned that he would have to back up his talk with performances on the pitch.
The new Sky Sports pundit remarked: “I think he can [live up to early promise]. He’s a talented boy.
“Like anybody, you have to prove yourself. You can talk and say whatever you like - but you have to back it up.”
Further pressed on whether Cantwell already has already backed himself up at Ibrox, Sutton added: “Has he won anything yet?”
Meanwhile, Kris Boyd has insisted critics of Sky Sports' Scottish football TV deal don't know what they're talking about.
He said: “I think it’s people who quite clearly don’t have a clue what they’re talking about, if I’m being brutally honest,” Boyd said. “When you strip everything back, every media outlet that has worked in Scottish football has had the opportunity to put the money in to take over the rights.
“Sky are the ones who have actually done it and they’ve done it over a number of years. If you go right back to the start, they bailed Scottish football out. I would love to see where the game would have been if it hadn’t been for Sky after the whole Setanta thing in 2009."
