Harvey Elliott has apologised to supporters for Liverpool's performances in both the Premier League and Champions League this season but insists he and his team-mates are "more determined than ever" ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
The Reds endured a wretched return in both major competitions and therefore failed to qualify for Europe's premier competition for the seventh successive season and as a result will be made to contest the Europa League next season.
However, despite the torrid campaign, which came less than 12 months after the club stood on the brink of an unprecedented quadruple, Jurgen Klopp's side managed to string together an 11-game unbeaten run from April onwards and secure a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.

And after concluding the season with a draw at Southampton on Sunday, Elliott posted to Instagram less than 24 hours later and said: "We’re sorry we couldn’t hit the heights of last season. We’re even more determined than ever to get back to work so we can go for it all in 23/24!
"Thanks for all of your amazing support home & away Reds. Can’t wait to get back out there!"
After enjoying a short break, the Reds will reconvene at the AXA Training Centre in early July before heading out to Germany for pre-season training. Liverpool's summer preparations will then take them to Singapore where they will play both Leicester City and Bayern Munich before returning to England.
