Liverpool are planning to reward Harvey Elliott with a new and improved contract.
Elliott was part of a slew of players who signed long-term deals last summer but the club believe his progress is deserving of fresh terms as he continues to see his importance within this Liverpool squad grow under Jurgen Klopp.
The former Fulham youngster started three of the first four games last term in midfield before a horrendous ankle injury at Leeds sidelined him until February, when he returned to action with his first goal for the Reds in the FA Cup win over Cardiff City.

Elliott then started the Champions League game against Inter in Italy later that month to become the youngest-ever Liverpool player to kick-off a Champions League match, at the age of 18 years and 318 days, but Premier League minutes were more difficult to come by as the Reds chased the title in the closing months.
The teenager started just one more league game following his ankle problem but Elliott has always been viewed as a long-term prospect at Anfield and as such, Klopp and sporting director Julian Ward are ready to hand down fresh terms.
Liverpool see Elliott as integral to their long-term future having recruited him from Fulham at the age of 16 three years ago as part of their efforts to secure some of the brightest talents in the country as early as possible.
Elliott was a substitute in Saturday's 2-2 draw with his former club Fulham and could be in line for a recall to the starting lineup when Crystal Palace visit Anfield on Monday night given the setbacks suffered by Thiago Alcantara at Craven Cottage.
With Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out injured for the game and Naby Keita having only returned to training this week following illness, Elliott may be named in the lineup for the first time since the Premier League victory at Southampton in May when Patrick Vieira's Eagles visit Merseyside.
Elliott would become the fourth high-profile contract signing of the summer if he puts pen to paper following new contracts for Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota and, most notably, Mohamed Salah. They follow on from Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson last year.
