Harvey Barnes explains what he wants to take from Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

Harvey Barnes has referenced Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah as someone he can learn from as the Leicester City attacker looks to improve his amount of goals and assists.

Salah finished last season as the Premier League Golden Boot winner, along with Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-min, and also picked up the Playmaker award for the most assists.

Barnes, who was once linked with a move to Liverpool, uses the two stars as examples as to how he can become a better goalscoring threat for Leicester.

The 24-year-old told Sky Sports in an exclusive interview before the start of the Premier League season: "I am a good runner with and without the ball so we are looking at how I can get in behind more.

“If you look at the amount of goals that Salah and Son scored last year, they are two of the best at running in behind and getting the ball in those dangerous positions. It is about taking those bits – the reasons why they score so many – and adding them to my game."

Barnes is hoping to be in the England squad for the winter World Cup in Qatar in November. He said: “My focus has to be on starting the season well, scoring goals and performing well. I like to set myself a target for the season and then set little ones throughout the season to keep your mind focused.”
