Harry Winks and Ben Davies sign new five-year contracts with Tottenham

Harry Winks and Ben Davies have both signed new five-year contracts with Tottenham, the club have announced.

Winks has firmly established himself in Mauricio Pochettino's first team after an injury-hit 2017-18 campaign, racking up over 100 appearances for the club since making his debut four and a half years ago.

The midfielder said: "I've been at the club since I was five so when I got the opportunity to sign a new contract it was a no-brainer.

"It's a contract that, like Ben, I've worked hard for. It's been a difficult season but a great season last year especially so to sign a new contract, I'm delighted. I'm really happy."

Davies had two years remaining on his previous terms and will now look to establish himself as first-choice left-back amid ongoing uncertainty over Danny Rose's future.

The defender said: "I'm delighted to sign here for the next five years. It's one that I've worked really heard to put myself in the position to stay at his club for the next few years and I'm delighted to be here."

The news following announcements from Spurs earlier in the day confirming the appointments of Matt Taylor, Ryan Mason and Nigel Gibbs to the club's academy coaching team.

Mason, himself an academy product like Winks, had been working with the club last season before his appointment on Monday as an academy coach.
