Harry wants Archie and Lili to have relationship with royals - and they already see some

Some feel Prince Harry has destroyed any chance of reconciliation with the Royal Family, but he still wants his children to 'have relationships' with them.

Harry has made a number of extraordinary claims against his loved ones in in his highly-anticipated autobiography Spare and revealed a lot of private information about his family.

But he is open to reconciliation and says seeing Archie and Lilibet spending time with members of his family 'brings him great joy'.

Archie was born in the UK the year before Meghan and Harry quit their royal roles, while the Duchess of Sussex fell pregnant with Lilibet once the family had set up their new lives in the US.

Lilibet hasn't even met certain senior members of the Royal Family, but Harry has revealed she has been introduced to some of the famous clan.

"I've said before that I've wanted a family, not an institution—so of course, I would love nothing more than for our children to have relationships with members of my family, and they do with some, which brings me great joy," Harry told PEOPLE.

It's not known who Harry's children have spent time with, but he is known to be very close with Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and his aunt, Sarah Ferguson.

As for what he wants the royal family's takeaway to be from his revealing new book, he says: "I want people to read my memoir and come to their own conclusions—I don't want to tell anyone what to think of it and that includes my family. This book and its truths are in many ways a continuation of my own mental health journey. It's a raw account of my life—the good, the bad and everything in between."

Despite all his allegations against his family members, Harry stated that he is open to reconciliation with his family.

When asked if they would be watching the ITV chat, he said: "I really hope they do, but I don’t think they will. And with regard to this interview, I don't know if they'll be watching this or not - but what I have to say to them, and what they have to say to me, will be in private and I hope it can stay that way."

Bradby hit back by saying: "People might say, you’ve destroyed any chance of a reconciliation."

But a defiant Harry replied: "Well, they've shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile up until this point and I'm not sure how honesty is burning bridges.

"Silence only allows the abuser to abuse. So I don't know how staying silent is gonna make things better. That's genuinely what I believe."

While we got to see traditional royal-style photos of Archie, Harry and Meghan made the decision to keep Lili out of the spotlight.

Fans didn't get a glimpse of her until the family's Christmas card snap in 2021, which showed the baby girl in the hands of her loving mum.

Archie and Lilibet had a starring role in Harry and Meghan's Netflix docuseries - with some incredible never before seen footage.

There are countless home videos of Archie and Lili out on walks with their proud parents, as well as a gorgeous snap of Archie on his first birthday with proud grandma Doria Ragland.

Other snaps show Harry carrying pushing his children in prams and a fun video of him and Archie rolling around their home on a suitcase.

Speaking about his children, Harry tells the camera: "As a dad, and as parents, I think consent is a really key piece to this. That if you have children, it should be your consent to what you share."

Meghan later adds: "We've been really conscious of protecting our kids as best we can and also understanding the role they play in this really historical family."

In the third episode of the show, Meghan reveals Archie's favourite song is Bennie And The Jets by Sir Elton John, who is a close friend of the couple and sang at Princess Diana's funeral.

Harry also speaks about the fact his children are mixed race, saying: Harry said: "My son, my daughter, my children are mixed race, and I'm really proud of that.

"When my kids grow up, and they look back at this moment, and they turn to me and say 'What did you do in this moment?' I want to be able to give them an answer.

"I think it is such a responsibility as human beings that, if you bring a small person into this world, that you should be doing everything you can to make the world a better place for them.

"But, equally, what's most important for the two of us is to make sure that we don't repeat the same mistakes that perhaps our parents made

Buckingham and Kensington Palaces have refused to content on the contents of the book, which hit the shelves on Tuesday.

Spare has been released at all book stores and can be bought online here.
