Harry Styles in Edinburgh: Star leaves fans in awe at BT Murrayfield

As Harry Styles' Love on Tour tenure comes to an end, the star took one last trip across the UK - and Edinburgh fans were not disappointed.

The As It Was singer booked two dates in the capital and thousands of fans descended into BT Murrayfield stadium, donned in feather boas and cowboy hats.

Saturday night's gig in the capital has been recorded by the venue as Scotland's highest-selling stadium concert, raking in an attendance of over 65,000.

Harry's record-breaking night was kick-started by Brit Award winning band Wet Leg, who received a warm welcome from the Edinburgh crowd.

The band have an indie-pop vibe, and a lot of the crowd were tuned into their most popular songs - Wet Dream and Chaise Longue - however, the rest of the short set was well-received too.

And as the thousands of well-dressed fans waited in anticipation for the fruit-obsessed man to come on stage - Tina Turner's Proud Mary came on the speakers in an homage to the rock and roll icon.

Across the stadium was a spine-tingling rendition of the song, with both standing and seating ticket holders giving the iconic dance their best shot.

Then, for all avid Styles fans, the main event was minutes away from beginning, as Bohemian Rhapsody queued up - lifting the crowd's energy once more.

The introduction music began, as the band set up on the stage - made up of percussionists, pianists, a brass section, bass, electric and acoustic guitarists, and most importantly - the drummer, who is much-loved pal of Harry's, Sarah Jones.

Also included in the band are Elin Sandberg, Niji Adeleye, Pauli Lovejoy, Mitch Rowland, Ny Oh, Madi Diaz and brass section Kalia, Lorren and Laura.

The band set up the song Daydreaming, and Mr Styles exploded onto the stage in a pirouette of energy and excitement - dressed in all pink and with just a bright cerise pink waistcoat covering his muscly physique.

He felt the crowd's energy from the get-go, and gave as good as he got from them - whirling through songs Golden, Adore You and Keep Driving while interacting with fans and blowing kisses all the while.

Harry stopped to introduce himself to the audience - as if they didn't already know who they'd planned their outfits for months for, and carefully crafted signs to show him.

He rather humbly said: "My name is Harry, and I'm so happy to be up here enjoying this with all of you".

Daylight was next, and the large screens flashed art across them, as well as the audience's excited faces singing along to every single word.

The song She came soon after, and guitarist Mitch Rowland was introduced by the main man as he effortlessly sailed through an intricate guitar solo, much to the excitement of the crowd.

Some members of the band then headed down to the forefront of the walkway stage to sing ballad Matilda with the star, which was poignant and emotional for many.

As a heart-shaped balloon floated off into the Edinburgh sky, Mr Styles stared up towards it with a thoughtful look as the song finished.

New single Satellite was up next to bring the vibe level to a crescendo once again, and then the band went into what Styles called the 'disco melody'.

Cinema, Music for a Sushi Restaurant, Treat People With Kindness and One Direction song What Makes You Beautiful were included in this high-tempo melody, as the star scooted around the floor dancing and looking like he was loving every minute on that stage.

He told fans: "This is one of the performances you just know you'll remember for the rest of your life...I'm just floating up here thanks to you all."

Harry also took some time to speak with his audience, where one fan dared him to sing unreleased banger Medicine - or else he was just a s*******.

He grinned cheekily throughout this segment of the show - and told fans they would have to wait and see.

Grapejuice brought the energy to a mellow lull as the star neared the end of his stint on stage - before hit single Watermelon Sugar had all bums off seats and into a cheery dance.

And as the guitar chords of Fine Line began to play, the crowd was hushed into a silence to listen to the stars true singing talent come out in full force.

The brass section and drums played into this song beautifully, and created a moment many fans will never forget - given that the song isn't typically included in the set list.

A short break - an encore - ensued, as fans collected themselves and dried their tears - but Harry had other plans.

Sign of the Times was up next, and the debut single from the 29-year-old had strangers holding hands and tearing up at the belting ballad.

Then, the lucky sign-holder got her wish - unreleased song Medicine was up next, and many older fans knew what was going on as soon as drummer Sarah Jones clicked her drumsticks together.

The stadium bounced with energy, and As It Was kept this level going - I'm pretty sure the bridge of this song was heard from miles away from the venue.

The star finished on the song Kiwi, and spent an extra five minutes before, during and after the tune thanking fans in all corners of the BT Murrayfield stadium.

He left the stage to an adulation of applause, as fans were reeled back into reality on Saturday evening.

Simply (The Best) ended the night in the venue, as fans sang their way out of BT Murrayfield and onto the packed trains, trams and taxis home to gush over the singer's performance.

For the two hours Mr Styles was on stage, we felt like we were truly invited into Harry's House - and it was a tale of passion, happiness, emotion and acceptance.

Let's hope the star doesn't leave it too long to come back to the capital - it won't be the same without him here!
